The 3rd Annual Neuroscience Meets Recovery Conference will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada

on September 4-6, 2008. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Courts & Correction Staff, Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Counselors who are seeking continuing education credits (CEUs) for their license renewal are encouraged to attend and learn from our nationally recognized faculty. A maximum of 24 Contact Hours are available for the Neuroscience Conference. 6 Hours Pre-Conference Ethics Workshop on September 3, and 18 Hours Full Time Conference September 4-6.

Full-Time conference attendees who complete all required evaluation and attendance documentation are eligible to receive the maximum number of contact hours. Daily registrants can receive credit for each day in attendance.

Program OBJECTIVES

2. Discuss the role of the right hemisphere as it relates to trauma, attachment, affect regulation and transference/counter transference.

3. Describe the neurobiology of learning as it relates to adolescent substance abuse and treatment.

4. Describe the role of the unconscious mind and social brain as it relates to trauma and addiction.

5. Discuss the integration of science, spirituality and 12-Step facilitated recovery.

6. Describe the evolution of the spiritual brain as it relates to acceptance and serenity.

7. Discuss recent advances in the pharmacological treatment of various addictions including nicotine addiction.
